Geology Game

The Geology Game is designed to introduce players to the fascinating science of Geology.  This includes the different types of rocks, minerals and fossils.

It was the first PC game I developed using Godot back in 2017.  I was on a steep learning curve so the game is a bit rough around the edges in terms of game design.  For example, the map locations are accessed by simply clicking a map image rather than spinning a 3D globe.

I have some education in geology so I wanted the science in the game to be as accurate as I could make it.  So I spent a lot of time researching the rock, minerals and fossils and world locations where they could be found.  I was however limited by the images I could buy from a royalty free image site.  Even so, I was able to include a good range of geological discoveries.

The game is turn based.  You play as a geological museum sending out your geologists around the world to find discoveries and display them in the museum.  You are in competition with other museums to fill your museum.

If you are totally new to geology, playing the game should be a gentle introduction to the science.

The game is available here on Steam: Geology Game
