D-USA

I developed the Disunited States Of America pc game in 2019.

It was meant to be a tongue in cheek look at American politics beyond the two party system.  It was also my first attempt at designing a card game.

The player selects to play one of 9 factions against 4 other random factions to control the USA.

The 9 factions are Celebrities, Corporations, Criminals, Ecologists, Government, Liberals, Nationalists, Religious and Socialists.  Each faction has their own unique card deck.

Each US State has its own set of resources including Population, Land, Oil and Gas, Industry and Money.  These aren't random.  I researched how much of each resource each state officially has.

To control a state, a faction has to own the most resources in that state.  At the end of the game, the faction controlling the most states wins the game.

Not all states are equal for all factions.  For example, California provides advantages for the Celebrity faction because of Hollywood and New York provides advantages for the Corporation faction because of Wall Street.

Another unsual aspect of the game are the sound effects.  I paid some voice over actors to create vocal sound effects for each of the factions when a card is played.

The game is available here on Steam : The Disunited States Of America
